Our very own Andrew Jabola from Saratech presented at the NX CAE Symposium in Cincinnati, Ohio along with Shannon Gott, a Ph.D. Candidate, on Planar Titanium Stent Design. The NX CAE Symposium took place from November 5-6, 2013 and had cutting-edge presentations, workshops, discussions and networking. Andrew and Shannon presented a well-defined objective on being able to develop and refine titanium micromachining techniques to create nanopatterned titanium stents. This was based on the hypothesis that rationally-designed surface nanopatterning would enhance desired vascular cell responses relative to uncontrolled surfaces. Through their conclusive research using physical data and FEA using NX NASTRAN and NX CAE, they were able to learn many lessons that will be applicable to many nonlinear situations and provide the basis for future work.
