What’s New in Solid Edge ST6?
In 2013, Solid Edge ST6 was released by Siemens.
When I started using Solid Edge, ST3 was the latest version - it has been
almost two years since and Solid Edge is still continuing to improve.
One of
the biggest changes, for me, is the procedure of importing model views into a
draft document. The draft field is now defaulted to have a model view ready to
place as soon as you select a part with the View Wizard. A few of the smaller
changes are that the Extend to Next tool is now listed in a drop down menu
under the Split tool. Also, the Spline tool is now separated from the drop down
menu under the Line tool.
Rest
assured, all of the processes involved with using the Solid Edge tools remain
mostly the same. And, as always, Solid
Edge still offers the cutting edge ability to add Synchronous Technology features
to our traditionally “ordered” models to ease model creation and revisions. The
Live Rules still offer increased flexibility and intelligence in forming a
model’s features.
Solid
Edge ST6 is now the next installment in the Solid Edge series and I believe
that ST6 will continue to be an added value for all of our solid modeling
practices.
