Saratech on Desktop Engineering: Advancing Toward the Goal of Complete System Simulation

Desktop Engineering re-capped on the Siemens PLM Software NX CAE Symposium 2013, held in November at the University of Cincinnati in their article  ‘Advancing Toward the Goal of
Complete System Simulation.’  One of our very own from Saratech, Andrew Jabola, represented us at the Symposium with the highest caliber of excellence with his presentation on ‘Planar Titanium Stent Design.’ The Symposium featured many industry professionals and experts presenting on the need to reduce cycle times via collaboration and system level engineering.  NX Customers presented at workshops detailing how they used the software to simulate their products, ranging from cardiovascular stents to heavy-lift rockets.  The common consensus amongst NX users is the continual need to collaborate via data management and sharing as a means to optimize their increasingly complex design processes and reduce design cycle.

Quick time-to-market with minimal testing is the increasing demand placed on engineers when designing new products.  The challenge behind the many steps of analysis, including the assumptions and data generated with each new analysis, is the ability to recognize the product throughout the analysis in a language that is machine readable and human error-free.  The solutions have to link together in order to get reused and reapplied in other important areas.
