Solid Edge ST7: Re-imagine What’s Possible

Solid Edge ST7 is the newest version of Solid Edge that offers convenience and saves a lot of time. Solid Edge ST7 was launched at SEU14 in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 13th, 2014. Improvements within the part environment include: the Cylinder, Box and Sphere commands, improved key point recondition and improved sketching functionality. There’s a new addition of 3D sketching and a View Cube so the user can modify his views as needed. There is also a completely refurbished Hole Command to match the standards found in the Machinery Handbook (otherwise referred to as the Machinist’s Bible). The once text file, that was referenced by the Hole Command, is now an excel sheet within the install directory.  This now allows old holes.txt files to be transferred into the new databases if they have been adjusted.

Some improvements within the Assembly environment are: the new Peer Recognition option and the New Duplicate component command.  The Peer Recognition option allows easy grabbing of feature geometry from other parts for designing with an association.  The New Duplicate component command makes it possible to rapidly place duplicates of components. There are also improvements within the Sheet Metal Environment.  This upgrade allows you to create Sheet Metal objects around Solids with ease.
