Driving Better Designs with PLM!

On Wednesday, June 11th, Saratech held a workshop on improving product design through improved data and process management at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, CA.
The event kicked-off with a keynote presentation by Rahul Garg, machinery industry expert from Siemens PLM Software. Rahul presented about the global trends affecting machine manufacturers.
We then followed with a presentation from Pam Kenoyer of Moog, Aircraft Division. She talked about their current success with Teamcenter and gave advice and insight for companies considering a move to PLM themselves.
The day’s events also included some great roundtable sessions. First, we had Sean Slyman of Saratech host a conversation among attendees about how they currently manage their product data and what benefits they think they could achieve if their data was in a managed environment with automated workflow processes. This was a great success and most attendees requested further one-on-one discussions.
The second roundtable session was hosted by Mark Deo of Dale Carnegie Training of So. Los Angeles. This was a very dynamic and energetic discussion on what makes an engaged manager and how important having one is when it comes to the success of lean initiatives and process improvement.
