- Go to “support.ugs.com” in your browser.
- Open the “License Management” section, and click the “Current Licenses” link.
- Enter in your Webkey username and password, if not already saved in your browser, to sign in to your account. If you don’t have a Webkey account, go back one page and go to “Webkey Management” > “Create Account” > “Siemens PLM Standard Webkey Creation”. Note, you can use the “Forgot your password?” or “Forgot your username?” tools if needed. You can also add another sold-to for additional Siemens PLM products you may have. On the new page, enter your “sold-to ID” and “Webkey Access Code”, both of which are given at the top of your permanent license file. You’ll need to fill out some information and then be sent an email with a confirmation link to activate your account.
- If you have additional Siemens PLM products such as Femap, NX, Teamcenter, etc. make sure the dropdown in the top-left of the new page has the correct Solid Edge sold-to number.
- Click “Passwords and License Files”.
- Ensure the “Product” dropdown is on “Solid Edge”.
- Ensure the “Version” dropdown is on “106.0 at home license” and click “Continue”. 106 is for ST6, 105 is for ST5, and so-on.
- Check the boxes for the available product and any add-ons you want to practice using this Home license, for example “Solid Edge Classic” and “Wire Harness”, and click “Next”.
- Fill out the personal information on the new page. The license will be sent to the email address you enter here. If you are on the machine that you will use this home license for Solid Edge on, you can click the “Get ID” button to fill the box with your SE CID. If not, you will need to retrieve the SE CID from the machine to be used. To do so, once Solid Edge is installed on the machine, open the “License Utility” from: for Windows 7, Start > All Programs > Solid Edge ST6 > Licensing; or from the Search in Windows 8, and the SE CID will be shown in the top-right of the window. Note, you may need to right-click and choose “Run as Administrator” to run the “License Utility”.
- Click “Generate License”. Whether the license is downloaded immediately or emailed to you, save it to the Desktop or somewhere safe.
- Open the “License Utility” as outlined in Step 9 above, choose the first option “I have a License file”, and click “Browse” to go to the home license file just saved, and click “OK”.
- Enjoy Solid Edge.
