Working, Learning and Thriving at Saratech
Working at Saratech, is an experience which I feel is unrivaled in the world of PLM. In this quickly growing company, employees are not simply bound by their respective titles and have the opportunity to apply their skills to a variety of areas. People of different departments mingle and work together to help bring the best possible service to our customers, while pivoting Saratech into a position of recognition in its field. Our CEO, Saeed Paydarfar, often refers to Saratech employees as a family, and, as I reach my one year anniversary of working here, the interoffice unity and comradery that surrounds my coworkers has become truly obvious to me.
For me, this past year at Saratech has been quite the whirlwind of learning and adapting to the corporate world. Starting out in the marketing department, I slowly but surely learned the ropes of Salesforce and Marketo, learning how to track leads and create campaigns, so as to help cultivate a strong customer base for the company. After almost half a year of interning in marketing, I was moved to the Training department where I worked with our department head to improve the content on our website and also create the monthly Saratech newsletters. In March, upon my acceptance to Engineering school, I was moved to the technical department to begin learning how to use the Software Saratech sells. Surrounded by experienced engineers holding advanced degrees, at first, I was daunted quite a bit by the learning curve I would need to overcome in order to become a skilled asset to the company.
I started off learning Solid Edge and caught on with some help from my fellow, older experienced engineers and the multitude of training classes that Saratech offers. I was even able to learn the basics of synchronous technology. After just a few months, I can model parts, assemble, and make drafts though I still have much to learn. In my opinion, Solid Edge’s synchronous technology makes modeling parts very user friendly, letting you quickly and easily correct your mistakes, and allowing you to grab and drag objects until they look just right.
I am now learning FEMAP, which was a little difficult at first, but considerably easier after I took the FEMAP 101 class taught by Chris Teague, possibly the best instructor here at Saratech. Seriously, if you are trying to learn FEMAP on your own, take my advice, sign up for a Saratech training class. You will not believe how much you will learn once you finish the class.
This past year at Saratech has been one of the most enlightening years of my life. I have learned so much, and have had the honor of getting to know an amazing group of people who are talented and knowledgeable in so many different areas. I am truly lucky to work at such a unique and caring company.
